We welcome financial donations to the Shed to help with our running costs, which are expected to exceed £24,000 in 2023-24. Donations can be made through LocalGiving. We also welcome donations of tools and materials (see below for more information and advice). Those which are surplus to our needs can be passed to other Sheds, given to Tools for Self-Reliance or sold to raise funds for the Shed. Please use the Contact Us page if you wish to donate anything. We can usually arrange collection for large items.
A year’s worth of cuppa’s, tea or coffee to share with others
The materials towards a project in support of the community.
A week’s worth of lighting, heating and space rental.
All donations big or small are welcome and will help us keep running.
SOME ADVICE FOR PEOPLE CONSIDERING THE DONATION OF ITEMS TO MEN IN SHEDS MK
Thank you for considering a donation of items to Men in Sheds MK. Your gift will help us to continue to foster the health and well-being of our members, in a safe and welcoming environment.
The items we collect will be used in our workshops, be passed to other Sheds, given to Tools for Self-Reliance or sold to raise funds for the Shed.
We realize that it can be difficult to part with some items that may have special meaning for you, so we always encourage donors to take their time before asking us to come by. It can be very difficult to return items once they have been collected; however, you can be sure that when we find personal items hidden amongst donated goods, such as old photographs and slides, we will always put them to one side and give you a call before disposing of them.
We cannot accept any donations of firearms or firearms replicas, swords, gas cylinders or any other item that could be considered dangerous.
The process can be made easier if you are able to clearly separate what is to stay and what is to be donated. In the case of shed and garage collections, we often advise that you keep some basic tools back for those odd jobs that can crop up around the home. Our members will be happy to offer advice if requested.
Once again, thank you for considering a donation to Men in Sheds MK.
